An important aspect of narrative is character and characterisation . This is especially true in character driven films such as ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ and others of the ‘road movie ‘ genre that seem to themselves with the emotional, moral , spiritual journey of the protagonist/s and their development .
One aspects which allows for effective characterisation that serves to show themes and ideas is dialogue. In Little Miss Sunshine the dialogue allows for character representation and both reinforces and challenges stereotypes.
